University of Cambridge

Who are we?

The Cambridge research effort is based at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), which is the public face of the Department of Engineering's Manufacturing and Management Division.

Within the IfM the Cambridge Centre for Industrial Sustainability (CIS) is home to our researchers.

Where are we?

We are based at the Alan Reece Building, a recent, purpose built development on the West Cambridge site. You can find out details of how to get to us here.

What do we do?

The IfM takes a distinctive, cross-disciplinary approach to research education and practice, bringing together expertise in management, technology and policy to address the full spectrum of industrial issues.

It aims to develop practical solutions to current industrial issues and covers all areas from understanding markets and technologies, through product and process design to operations, distribution and related services.
